Accessibility Statement

PLACEHOLDER, REPLACE BEFORE LAUNCH. This is not legal text. It exists so that registration has something to point at during development. Publish a reviewed version 2 of this document in the admin panel before the network is opened to anyone outside the test group.

Accessibility Statement

CONVENIRE is built to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. That is the target the site is tested against, and it is the standard we hold ourselves to when we add anything new.

What that means in practice

• Every page can be used with a keyboard alone. The first thing you reach on any page is a "Skip to content" link, and keyboard focus is always visible.
• Text meets the contrast minimums against the background it sits on, and so do the borders of form fields, buttons and checkboxes.
• Every form field has a label, every error is linked to the field that caused it from a summary at the top of the page, and required fields are marked.
• Photographs carry alternative text, and the connection paths that show how you are linked to somebody are described in words as well as in arrows.
• The site respects your system setting for reduced motion.

What we know does not meet the standard yet

We would rather say this than let you find it.

• The administration panel is built on a third-party framework and has not been audited to the same standard. It is used by site staff only; no member ever sees it.
• The payment pages hosted by Stripe are outside our control. Stripe publishes its own accessibility information.
• The anti-spam challenge, where it is switched on, is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile and is not ours to change. If it stops you from registering, write to us at the address below and we will create your account by hand.
• Automated testing cannot see everything. We have not yet completed a full manual audit with a screen reader, and we have not tested with voice control software at all.

Telling us about a problem

If any part of CONVENIRE is difficult or impossible for you to use, write to [email protected] and say what you were trying to do and what happened. A person reads that address. We will reply, and we will tell you either when it is fixed or how you can do the thing in the meantime.
